What format should I be using?

You have the option of talking to a teacher via phone or video call. Choose whichever option makes you feel more comfortable.

How long will the calls be?

The maximum call length is 30 minutes. Average calls last between 20 and 30 minutes.

If you have any follow-up questions, TEACH Connecticut can schedule another call for you or get you in contact with the teacher you spoke with the first time.
 

How do you schedule the phone calls?

For a phone or video call, all you need to do is select a teacher you want to meet with and a convenient time for them to connect with you.

How should I prepare?

Choose a call location with low background noise or that’s very quiet. If it’s a video call, try to take your call in a location with good lighting and without background distractions.

When you sign up, you’ll complete a short survey to help prepare your advisor for your conversation, but it’s a good idea to think through a list of questions beforehand. We recommend that you check out our suggestions for questions below:

  • How do I decide on what grade level and subject to teach?
